No bucket titles, all stories have assignees and (if needed) epics, no duplicates, no done-with-open-tasks, sprint planning numbers are set.
Where the issues land. Better starting point for Monday's coaching message than aggregated totals.
Set planned_story_points and adhoc_buffer_points on the sprint record before the sprint starts. Without these, capacity tracking is impossible.
Epics must be completable. Permanent buckets like "Adhoc" should be archived; the work_type: ad_hoc field on stories already marks unplanned work.
Likely the same work logged twice. Inflates velocity and confuses reporting. Merge tasks/logs into one and archive the duplicate.
If any stories involve research, design, schema modeling, or evaluation, they should be work_type: discovery — otherwise pre-build thinking is invisible to the client.
Work logged here is invisible to sprint reporting and the client dashboard. Wrap each in a story before more time goes onto it.
Tasks updated recently but never added to any sprint. They don't count against capacity, don't show up in burndowns, and don't appear in the dashboard.
People with active task assignments but zero story-level assignment this sprint — their work is invisible in the client dashboard's Team Workload until stories are created and they're added as story-level assignees.
What the team is figuring out before building.
